Hotjobs is overall a solid job posting site, but suffers from some obvious weaknesses in comparison to the other sites with wider client bases. It also has some comparative strengths and is best used as a secondary site along with more popular sites.
Cost: N/A
Pros:
Hotjobs has an affinity with newer and smaller companies with lesser recruiting budgets and therefore should be cheaper than other major job posting sites. Company users pay a flat rate per month for 20 postings and are able to browse resumes without a separate fee. Hotjobs lets recruiters add screening questions to each posting to assist in finding the best candidate for the job. It also allows the employer to refresh the date of a job posting so that it appears sooner on the results list.
This site also does a good job in keeping search results pertinent. The relative ease in using the website in general is a huge plus.
Cons:
One major setback regarding Hotjobs is their total lack of technical support. They only offer a FAQ and did not leave any contact information on the site.
Also, the general lack of visitors can be an issue for some employers. Hotjobs seems to target a few industries, with others scattered here and there. Therefore, companies that are not within that specific range will most likely not receive too much publicity or receive as many resumes as possible.
Extras:
Hotjobs overall has the least amount of additional features than other competitors. They offer quizzes, salary reports, and a few articles that are more geared toward job seekers than employers.
